EV Charger Installation
Vartia Electrics installs domestic and commercial EV chargers from around £1,100 to £1,500. We can install a charger even where your existing fuse box is older, often on a dedicated consumer unit with the required RCBO and surge protection. Before installation we check bonding, whether the property has a looped service, and the available capacity, using CT clamps to manage load where needed.
Charging your car at home should be simple, safe, and reliable. We install domestic and commercial EV chargers across Sidcup, Bexley, and the surrounding area, sizing and siting each one around your property and how you use your vehicle.
A common worry is whether an older fuse box rules out a charger. In most cases it does not. We assess the existing installation and, where appropriate, fit a dedicated consumer unit for the charger with the required protective devices, including an RCBO and a surge protection device.
Before we install, we check that the property meets the necessary electrical requirements. That includes verifying the main protective bonding to the water and gas services, and checking whether the property has a looped service. A looped service does not necessarily prevent a charger being fitted.
Where load needs to be managed, we can use CT clamps to monitor the property's electricity usage and balance the charger's demand accordingly. We explain every requirement clearly before any work begins, so you understand exactly what your installation involves.
